Veterinary Referrals
Denenberg Veterinary Psychiatry accepts referrals from veterinarians for dogs and cats with complex or persistent behavioural disorders. Referrals can be submitted using the form below, or by contacting the practice directly to discuss a case.
About This Service
This referral service is intended for veterinarians managing patients with complex, persistent, or high-risk behaviour problems that require specialist assessment and structured clinical management.
Cases appropriate for referral typically involve aggression, significant anxiety or fear, compulsive disorders, cognitive dysfunction, or behaviour problems that have not responded to initial treatment. Referrals are also accepted for cases where a formal risk assessment or specialist clinical opinion is required.
What Happens After Submission
Once a referral is received, the practice will review the information provided and contact the referring veterinarian and owner to confirm the appointment. For urgent or high-risk cases, please indicate this clearly in the referral form, and the practice will prioritize accordingly.
Following the consultation, a detailed written report will be provided to the referring veterinarian outlining the diagnosis, clinical reasoning, and structured treatment plan. Ongoing communication and collaborative case management are available as needed.
Prefer to Discuss a Case First?
Vet-to-vet consultations are available for veterinarians who would like to discuss a case before submitting a formal referral, or who require specialist input without a full patient consultation. This may include diagnostic support, treatment planning, or medication guidance for behavioural conditions.
To arrange a vet-to-vet consultation, contact the practice directly.
